Normally large bags made as a centrefold (flat) bag or a gussetted
bag. Some covers are not bags at all, but sheets which are put over palletised
or large loads.
Pallet covers fall into two groups - shrink hoods and non-shrink covers.
Shrink covers are put over the load to be covered and shrunk down either
by hand with a heat gun or for larger users they are passed through
a shrink tunnel or oven. This type of cover will usually perform two functions
- load stability and weather protection. If a shrink cover has been
applied to a load then no stretch film will usually be used to collate
the palletised product.
Non shrink covers (sometimes called dust covers) are often much thinner
than a shrink hood and provide weather or dirt protection only.Stretchfilm
is usually wrapped around the load to provide stability after the cover
has been applied.
Covers can be printed, peforated and supplied on rolls for tear off
or boxed/polypacked.
